2010 Courses Now Available
Whether it is the NHTSA "DUI/SFST Practitioner" course, NHTSA "DUI/SFST Instructor" course, NHTSA "Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement" (ARIDE) course, or an Overview of the NHTSA/IACP DRE program, IDS will come to your state and teach the course so you do not have to hassle with traveling. IDS will provide all the materials for the course to include a certificate of completion. Let the SFST/DRE instructor who has trained over 3000 officers in the IACP/NHTSA curriculum train you!
Please check back with us periodically for new dates on each course. For additional information on any of the below courses, please email Anthony Palacios at apalacios@impaireddrivingspecialists.com
Participants will receive the same training law enforcement officers receive throughout the nation in the most up to date NHTSA DUI/SFST course. All modules will be covered in order for participants to become a SFST practitioner under NHTSA guidelines. In addition to the NHTSA blocks of instruction, a block of instruction on DUI trial techniques will be covered.
Two live alcohol workshops will be conducted so the participants will be able to administer the SFSTs, as well as observe true physical manifestations (bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, etc.) on volunteers with BACs from 0.00 to 0.15. Students will also be shown how nystagmus can be induced on a person with a low BAC during the HGN test, when adminstered incorrectly and not to NHTSA guidelines.
